Downtown Charlevoix offers many unique dining options. Several of these eateries currently offer sidewalk seating through a no-cost city permitting process. Downtown restaurants are encouraged to offer as much outdoor seating as possible while allowing for safe pedestrian sidewalk traffic. Eateries wishing to place tables and chairs (or planters or news racks) on city sidewalks are asked to complete a Yearly Sidewalk Permit and abide by the City of Charlevoix’s ordinance governing city sidewalk usage. Applicants are asked to submit completed applications to the Office of the City Planner/Zoning Administrator.
