The expansion of the second most popular public marina in Michigan was completed this past summer with all 75 upgraded slips made available to boaters on July 3, 2007. Work now focuses upon the construction of a new Harbor Master Building with transient boater facilities at the north end of East Park and a state-of-the-art outdoor performance pavilion located at the south end.

The nearly $12 million project is a partnership between the Charlevoix Downtown Development Authority and the Michigan Waterways Commission.

In addition to the first-class transient boater facilities and performance pavilion, a fully functioning trout ecosystem and habitat and an interactive children’s water fountain are also planned. The entire project is slated for completion in July 2008.
