Phase 1 of the Charlevoix Marina and East Park Renovation project required the demolition of the former offices of the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce and Odmark Pavilion. The Chamber of Commerce has been relocated to 109 Mason Street. This paved the way for expansion and modernization of municipal marina facilities including accommodations for larger vessels andelectricity, water and cable television available at every slip.
A total of sixty-seven (67) slips are available for boaters with fifty-nine (59) for transient boaters and eight (8) slips for seasonal or annual boaters. The marina also features ample shoppers dockage allowing day visitors to spend time in Downtown. Learn more about the Charlevoix Marina by clicking HERE. Phase 2 of the overall project included construction of a state-of-the-art Odmark Performance Pavilion at the south end of East Park, home to the Charlevoix Concert Series, and a new Harbor Master Building with extensive transient boater facilities at the foot of Clinton Street to the north. The Harbormaster Building offers boater and public restrooms, transient boater showers and laundry facilities, a chart room and complimentary WiFi.
A late addition to Phase 2 was the design and construction of the Charlevoix Fountain of Youth, an interactive children’s fountain located on the plaza immediately in front of the Harbormaster Building.
The final touch on this incredible endeavor is the East Park Trout Habitat situated along the southern exterior wall of the Harbormaster Building. This habitat serves as its own ecosystem and can support a healthy trout population of over 50 fish. The trout habitat was opened on May 15, 2009 with the planting of 50 native trout.
